 A NEW HIGH-PERFORMANCE HOCKEY SPECIFIC TRAINING GYM.

Endurance is defined as the power of enduring a difficult process or situation without giving way. This is the basis of our philosophy at Hockey Endurance Kinesiology, and what makes us different than a standard training gym. We strive to support each athlete to perform at their best. Using the basics of Kinesiology, which is the study of the principles of mechanics and anatomy in relation to human movement, we work with our athletes to set individual goals that will push them to the next level on their path to success.

We understand the hockey player and can translate the OFF-ICE training directly to the ON-ICE. In our "One-Stop-Hockey Shop", our trainers work closely with our on-ice specialists to ensure the athletes obtain the best training to elevate their personal game.

MATT ABBOTT
Matt Abbott (BSc-Kinesiology) brings true hockey specific training with experience at the NHL, NCAA, Junior, and minor hockey levels. Having worked with the Montreal Canadiens, Dawson College, and the Lac St-Louis Lions, Matt understands what it takes for hockey players to compete at the Elite level.

SUMMER ATHLETE MONITORING PROGRAM

 

Our ideology is based on developing each individual athlete, which is why our programs include constant monitoring and planned check-ins to keep our athletes on track to meet their goals. Training programs will include one-on-one training, group training and open-gym times. Training programs are on a monthly basis, and developed based on the athletes’ individual needs. Times are subject to availability of the gym, and coordinated directly with the trainer.

PLAYER ASSESSMENT

 

Hockey Endurance Kinesiology programs all begin a full-body individual and sport specific player assessment developed by Head Trainer and Kinesiologist, Matt Abbott. In order to enhance the performance of athlete, the assessment will include a Functional Movement Screening (FMS) and a Physical Combine Testing Comparison. The FMS screens for any deficits or asymmetries in an athlete’s movement patterns, strength, stability, and mobility.

 

This initial assessment is a requirement for each of our athletes, as it helps inform all training programs by taking into account any significant restrictions or deficits in mobility and/or stability that may influence an athlete’s ability to perform some exercises safely and effectively. This assessment is done at the beginning of each summer. 

ASSISTED TRAINING

 

Our program offers all athletes the opportunity to work with our trainers one-on-one to develop an individualized program and to track progress. During these sessions the focus is developing technique and improving performance based on individual goals. 

SUPERVISED TRAINING 

 

Outside of open gym time we offer supervised training in which Athletes with ENDURE PRO memberships will have access to the available coach to ask questions, demonstrations, technical break-down etc. Trainers supervise the gym help athletes execute movements correctly. Supervised training will have specific allocated times during open-gym each week. 

 

SCHEDULE:

Monday to Friday:          

1:00pm – 4:00pm

Saturday and Sunday:  

1:00pm – 2:00pm

OPEN GYM TIME

 

Endurance gym will allocate “open-gym time”, in which our athletes with ENDURE and ENDRURE PRO memberships will be granted access. 

 

 

 

SCHEDULE:

Monday to Friday:          

11:00am – 1:00pm and 7:00pm – 9:00pm

Saturday and Sunday:  

11:00pm – 1:00pm and 3:00pm-6:00pm

 

PROGRAM ADJUSTMENTS

 

At the end of each month a program adjustment is made if the athlete renews for the following month. The program adjustment is used to asses where an athlete is at in their progress and adjust accordingly. Modifications are essential in pushing athletes to the next level, which is why they are an important part of the process. Adjustments are made taking into account the following areas: mobility, posture, strength, conditioning, body composition, and other factors as required.
